Ways to Recharge Your Mind

Before you get increasingly frazzled and stressed to the max, take some time to give your mind a mental break. Recharge mentally with these healthy tips.

1. Pay Attention. Multitasking really doesn’t work. You lose time when you switch from one task to another and you can accomplish far more when you do one thing at a time. Tell your brain to pay attention, focus, concentrate and think. Focus can actually be relaxing for your brain because you aren’t pulled in multiple directions at once. Try to minimize distractions, clutter, interruptions and brain overload. Keep lists and delegate when you can. You will increase your productivity and creativity. And don’t forget to take some breaks for mental clarity.

2. Walk it out. Someone once said all great ideas happen while walking. If you take walks, especially in nature, you can improve your mood, boost your immunity, and get some vitamin D (through sunlight). Plus, natural settings provide an inner calm that you can get in front of your computer screen.

3. Think short term. Make it easier for you to achieve some of your goals by breaking bigger goals into smaller ones. Sure, you can plot out what you’d like to weigh or what size you’d like to be, but on a daily basis, think of the next short-term goal you can hit. Wouldn’t you rather be excited about all the tiny victories along the way instead of holding out for the end goal? Shorter goals help you develop the habits you need to reach long-term goals by focusing on what you are doing right now, today.

4. Keep looking forward. You will have slip ups. You will most likely have days when you justify to yourself why you shouldn’t work out or why it’s okay to overeat. It happens. Accept a little room for being human upfront. Don’t get caught in a negative thinking trap; it won’t accomplish anything. If you slip up, just say, “Okay, I slipped up. Now I’m getting right back on track.” Jump right back in with your healthy habits and look ahead.

5. Keep an accomplishment list. What have you achieved this year? What wins have you had? Keep a running list to remind yourself of how fabulous you are. Include the little and big things. Now on days when you are dragging or feeling blue, read your list. You can skip feeling defeated and go straight to feeling empowered when you use your accomplishments to fuel future accomplishments.

6. Plan your fun for now and not later. Don’t put off your own enjoyment of YOUR life. As the years go by, are you doing the fun things you always said you’d do one day? Ask yourself: If not now, when?

7. Reconnect. What’s important to you? Family? Friends? A little solitude? Serene music? A yoga workout? Make sure you reconnect with what recharges you. Busy sometimes means disconnected. When you are in the frantic pace of a busy day, you may lose that important mind and body connection. Slow down and be present.

8. Listen to your inner voice. When you are deep into your busy day, you are probably drowning out that whisper of your inner voice that’s your compass. It’s the whisper you hear that says, “I really should exercise today” or “I probably shouldn’t eat this much” or “I really want to live in a healthier way.” When you slow down and focus internally, you hear your own wise counsel. Put simply, you connect with you.

Be on your own side when life is all frenzied and frazzled. With the occasional mental recharge, things can be whirling about around you while you keep an inner calm and a laser-like focus. How calm, cool and collected is that?

Review: Silkygirl Magic BB Cream in 01 Natural, Eye liner, and Moisture Shine Lipstick

Hello dearies!

1. BB Cream in 01 Natural

I've been trying out different BB creams recently (all of which I will review soon, hehe!) and I've got one to review here today!

Product: Silkygirl Magic BB Cream in 01 Natural
Price: RM29.90
Made in: Thailand
Content: 20ml

I received this product as part of a goodie bag. This BB cream claims to be an all-in-one product where it moisturises, conceals, brightens, control shine and acts as a makeup base, to name a few. It also has SPF30/PA+++ which is definitely a plus point, although I do not rely on SPF in makeup products itself and always prefer to use a sunblock before applying makeup on my face. This BB cream is not tested on animals.

Here's what it claims to do:-

Packaging : this BB cream comes in a light blue plastic tube packaging with a white cap and a darker blue motif design at the side. Simple packaging, nothing too fancy. It has a squeezy top with a very small hole which helps control the amount of product dispensed- I like this as it really does ensure that I do not squeeze out too much product and end up wasting it. It is also hygienic method of dispensing product and there is unlikely to be wastage of product because I can squeeze the tube to the max to get all product out.

Here's the list of ingredients:-

Application/Texture/Consistency: The product has a cream texture which spreads and blends easily on the skin, and the texture is quite light so after applying the BB cream, I don't feel like there is anything sitting on my skin. There is no hint of dewiness in the finish, and neither is it matte, so I would best describe it as a natural finish. It dries quickly and does not leave an oily or greasy feel as well. I find the coverage to be light, because it did not conceal any of my blemishes or spots, although it did cover all redness on my face. So any blemishes of spots that need covering would do much better with a proper concealer. It also did cover and minimize the appearance of pores on my nose, but the pores on my forehead were emphasized, maybe because that is an oilier place on my face.

Scent : This product claims to be fragrance-free; besides the typical scent that I seem to detect in all BB creams, I do agree that it is fragrance-free in the sense that it has no additional fragrance and there is no fragrance once applied on the face.

Durability : This product lasts for approx. 4-5 hours before it fades away completely. However, it does get abit streaky throughout the day.

How I use it : I just dot the product on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and spread the product out using my fingers in outward and downward strokes and also bring the product down to my neck to blend it out. The shade 01 Natural unfortunately, is too dark for me. It leaves my face looking orange/brown, like I just got a suntan. Haha! =D however, it did not cause breakouts on my face, and I did not experience any redness, allergies or itchiness as a result of using this product.

Price: At RM29.90, I think this BB cream is quite affordable and the product will last quite a while as a little goes a long way

2. Silkygirl Eye liner

My Thoughts

Ohhh… Dont judge this eyeliner for it’s packaging, brand and price!!~ It is really quite amazing!!~

What I like about this product, First off This product is indeed very long wearing. But up to 20 hours(?) I’m not too sure. But it did stay on quite well for a pretty good 16 hours.

It is rub proof. I try my best not to rub my eyes, or even touch my face the entire day, but sometimes, I just accidentally rub my eyes without realising. AND!!~ The eyeliner stay really nicely in place~~

I wouldn’t say it’s totally smudge proof. But comparing it with many other brands I’ve tried, this did pretty well in the smudge proof department. It will smudge a little throughout the day, just like the swatch above, but it’s barely noticeable.

I would say it’s pretty waterproof to me.. You know.. usually when it’s raining, it’s almost impossible to keep your face dry. I’m not usually worried about my mascara smudging or anything, since usually it’s always the eyeliner that worries me.. But.. this eyeliner works fine in that category too!!~ Well I’m not really sure about swimming with the eyeliner on, since I haven’t really tried it on.. ~ So if you’ve tried it.. Share your thoughts in the comments section down below!!~

Moving on that what they didn’t claim and what I’ve noticed. The application is very very easy!~ The product is not a dry pencil formula. It’s pretty creamy, and it glides onto the eyelid very well without exerting any strength! And because of that, u don’t really need a very steady hand, since all you need to focus is to draw a line, just like drawing a line with a pencil. And since it is a pencil, it is very forgiving unlike liquid eyeliner where you have to be more precise. Since the formula is really creamy, you don’t have to tug or pull your eyelids to draw the eyeliner on. It literally glides on!!

And if you make any visible mistakes, just take a wet Q-tip and quickly wipe it away before it sets on your skin.

Summary :

PROS

1) Waterproof
2) Rub proof
3) VERY Long wearing
4) Smudgeproof (well kind of)
5) Creamy formula
6) Easy to apply
7) No need to tug or pull the eyelids
8) Very Affordable

CONS

1) May smudge a teeny bit if you have tapered eyelids. But it’s not as noticeable.

Will I recommend this?

YES!! This is very cheap and it works very well!!~ for students that want to start wearing makeup and don’t have that much money to spend, this is definitely the thing for you. You get a eyeliner and a makeup remover all just for RM17.90. And the quality of the product?? To me.. There’s almost nothing to complain about.

This price is RM17.90 at our local Guardian, Watsons, and hyper and super markets.

3. Silkygirl Moisture Shine Lipstick

Silkygirl Moisture Shine Lipsticks come in 8 shades. They are moisturizing, glossy and pigmented. Here the shades 01 shade Naked Truth and 04 shade Simply Nude are reviewed. To know more read on Silkygirl Moisture Shine Lipstick Review..

My Experience

The silkygirl moisture shine lipsticks are indeed moisturizing. They are tasteless and fragrance free. The lipstick tends to accumulate on fine lines or dry skin on lips since it has a shiny finish. The lipstick will look best when worn on moisturized lips. The product is non sticky, transfer free and settles fast on application.

Once I left one of my moisture shine lipstick tube in the car during daytime, and in the hot Malaysian weather, the lipstick melted off completely in the tube. It was a huge mess when I tried to open the tube, with lipstick sticking everywhere. Even though it melted off, the product is still usable and there is no change in it’s texture.

The Good

· Small fine shimmer particles.
· Light and moisturizing .
· Beautiful everyday shades.

The Bad
· Highlights fine lines.

My Rating : 8/10

Great everyday lipsticks with color and shine. They are very affordable too. I strongly recommend this range.

Salina Novel

Salina tells a story of a Malay society, who is still deep in its traditional beliefs, in a small village called Kampung Kambing, Singapore, after the Second World War. It portrays poverty, social decay and a personal battle of a person to safeguard her dignity in the midst of poverty in a Malay society in Singapore. Although these conflicts are not new in the Malay literature, Samad managed to display his art of writing via dialogues and personality of the characters in Salina. He portrays that the human born as Salina is the real human, unlike others who are soul-less puppets whose life behind the facade is filled with hypocrisy and lies.

In Salina, Salina is the main character of the novel who works as a prostitute, a job scorned by the Malay society. She is born rich but the war robs the family and properties away from her. She falls poor, chooses to live in Kampong Kambing and works as a prostitute to earn a living. However, despite being a prostitute, she has a generous heart. Salina always helps her neighbours in Kampung Kambing and has Hilmy as her neighbour, whom she treats as a brother.

Salina lives with Abdul Fakar, whom she keeps as his man. Although she loves Abdul Fakar all her heart, Abdul Fakar is unhappy and always picks fight with her. Abdul Fakar also does not work and financially relies on Salina. Despite relying on Salina, he is ungrateful and womanises, which drives Salina miserable and sad. Salina loves Abdul Fakar very much as he looks similar to Yusuf, her old flame who perishes in the war.
One day, Razman, Abdul Fakar’s friend when he was a sailor came to the brothel where Salina works. He asks Salina about her tumultuous life with Abdul Fakar lately. Then, Razman advises her to leave Abdul Fakar and not rot with him. Razman manages to make Salina realise her mistakes. Especially after Abdul Fakar hits her when he brings another woman, Madulara, into their home, of which after the incidence Salina is evicted from their house.

Desperate, Salina follows Mek Kalsum to run away to Kelantan, a place far away from Singapore. Mek Kalsum so happens wants to go back home to Kelantan as her mother is ill. When her mother is well that Mek Kalsum returns to Singapore but Salina decides to remain in Malaysia and work in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Abdul Fakar regrets his behaviour towards Salina and realises Salina’s true love but she makes her mind to live in Kuala Lumpur. Abdul Fakar sees that he has actually lost her, decides to return to his old life as a sailor.

Which only won him a consolation price in a competition organised by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, a body governing publication and literary in Malaysia, Samad spoke on immoral issues and against the Islamic beliefs. His bravery to write on something against the society’s beliefs had gained him fame. Salina was written in 1958 when he was just 23 years old.

My View :

Sad , sad , and very disepointed . Loaded with the reality of life that is difficult to understand, because we do not suffer it . People has been easy to judge , because we do not understand the situation of some people , mental or physical condition . Even contemptuous of a prostitute in the eyes of society, but what is stored in her heart , what we know everything ? Really, no one but God to punish improper . True, for this life it is not easy , all sorts of problems from every corner of life.

Top 5 Most Beautiful Cities In The World

1) VENICE

Among those who've seen it in person, the conclusion is unanimous: Venice is the most beautiful city in the world, and the only one that can truly be described as unique. Each building is a work of art, with their beauty enhanced when reflected on the canals that cross the city. Its magical scenery is fascinating and breathtaking at first sight, evoking the feeling of entering the setting of a real-life fairy tale. It's perhaps even unfair to all other cities to call Venice a city, as it is a place unlike any other, that no other can compare to, or ever be like.

2) PARIS

The Seine and the bridges that cross it, the grand boulevards, the monumental squares, the magnificent monuments, the charming streets of Montmartre -- these images of Paris confirm that it is indeed the most elegant and sophisticated of all cities. It has inspired practically every major world capital, with every city claiming its own Champs-Elysèes, and Place des Vosges becoming the prototype of residential squares throughout Europe. Sit at an outdoor café table or go on a boat tour of the Seine and see it all romantically flash before your eyes.

3) PRAGUE

It is known as the city of the thousand spires because of its profusion of grand, beautifully-preserved historical monuments dating from practically every period in history. Those spires are best admired from the bridges that cross the Vltava River, especially from the magnificent Charles Bridge, or standing in the stunningly beautiful Old Town Square. Add the atmospheric alleyways and cobbled streets that lead to it, and you know that few other cities delight the senses as much as Prague.

4) LISBON

Magnificently sited on a series of hills running down to the grand Tagus River, Lisbon is one of the world's most scenic cities. Beautiful unexpected views are found at every turn down its colorful, picturesque streets, and especially from strategically-placed viewpoints or terraces at the top of each hill. The city has an unpolished, seductive appearance; an effortless beauty with captivating details such as cobbled designs, tiled façades, and pastel-colored buildings blending together to give it a singular atmosphere now lost in so many other cities. In such a stunning place, it's no wonder that many of the world's great explorers questioned what other beauties lied beyond the horizon when they departed from here in the 15th century.

5) RIO DE JANEIRO

The city is indeed blessed with onof the most stunning settings in the world, making it the most naturally beautiful ciyi in the world. Even if it was deserted of buildings and population, anyone satnding at the top of the famous Sugarloaf Mountain or by the Corcovado statue would see one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. Green, tropical luxuries mixes with the blue of the ocean and the brightness of the sand at the beaches, proving that this is indeed “the marvellous city” as locals call it.

Therefore, there are many interesting cities can be your holiday destination choice. This most beautiful cities are ranking from my knowledge. Maybe you have your own view. So, enjoy my this entry ^_^

This film is so DAEBAK! (excellent) I cry so much. The relationship between father and his daughter, friendship and everything is so awesome! The main idea of this story actually simple, the problem actually so simple but the acting and plot DAEBAK! This movie is about love between father and daughter. This one of the best movies that I had ever seen. Try to watch it and enjoy the film. :-)
